Strategic planning working groups seek campus input

On the heels of two well-attended campuswide town halls that took place on February 12 and 13, the Strategic Planning Working Groups continue to seek input from the UC Berkeley community. On February 21, Chancellor Christ held a fireside chat with undergraduates, which focused on student wellness. On February 27, the Student Experience Working Group held a brown bag listening session with staff across the campus who provide student services. This coming Tuesday, March 6, the Student Experience Working Group will hold an additional listening session primarily for staff who provide undergraduate or graduate advising services. The meeting will be from noon to 1 p.m. in Sibley Auditorium in the Bechtel Engineering Center. Each of the strategic planning process’ four working groups met in February with department chairs as part of the Department Chairs Forum series. All faculty are encouraged to attend a special meeting of the Academic Senate to discuss strategic planning, which will be held in International House’s Chevron Auditorium from 3 to 5 p.m. on March 8. At this meeting, members of the steering committee for the strategic planning process will present as a panel and invite questions from attendees. The strategic planning process facilitators will seek additional student input on March 7 at an ASUC Senate meeting and on April 5 at a Graduate Assembly delegates meeting. As always, campus community members are encouraged to submit questions, comments, and suggestions by writing to Information and questions submitted through these channels will be passed along to the appropriate working groups and added to the library of resource materials available to those groups.
